In a significant move to modernize and streamline government operations, all internal bureaucratic exchanges, including submitting leave applications and seeking approvals, will now be conducted through an Online Office Management System. This initiative aims to minimize public expenditure and improve efficiency.

DEFINITION AND PURPOSE

This System stands for System of Computerizing Government Administrative Activities. This online office management system is designed to handle the institutional and administrative tasks of government offices digitally.

KEY OBJECTIVIES

The primary aim of SYSCGAA is to create a people-centric digital government system that leverages technology to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative processes across Sri Lanka.

WHAT IS INTERCOM: A COMPREHENSIVE OVERVIEW

Intercom, short for intercommunication device, is a standalone communication system employed within a building or a collection of buildings. It’s designed to enable different rooms or sections to communicate with each other effectively. Over the years, the intercom system’s functionality has grown significantly, integrating more advanced features such as video and network capabilities.

Fact: The concept of the intercom, surprisingly, dates back to the late 19th century. The invention of the telephone by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876 paved the way for the development of the intercom. The first intercom systems were developed and used by the telephone exchange operators in the late 1890s. These systems were used to connect different operator stations to manage calls more effectively. However, the intercom as we know it today, designed for use in homes and offices, didn’t become common until the mid-20th century.

WHAT IS CCTV?

CCTV cameras are used for security monitoring and surveillance in any facility. CCTV stands for Closed-Circuit Television because security camera systems transmit video footage over a single channel, creating a closed circuit. This means CCTV footage is displayed on limited personal monitors and screens, not publicly broadcasted.

HOW DOES CCTV WORKS?
