Madhu Festival Preparedness Meeting 26th July 2016
The Madhu Festival Preparedness meeting was held on 26th July 2016 at 10:00 am in Conference hall of District Secretariat Mannar with the chairmanship of Mr.M.Y.S.Deshapriya Government Agent Mannar.
Especially Rev.Fr.A.Victor Sosai, Vicar General, Rev.Fr.Emiliyanuspillai Madhu Church Administrator, Director for Department of Christian Affairs and Departmental Heads participated this meeting and Madhu Church Administrator explained the current situation of organizing activities for the festival.
Further OIC Police Station Madhu introduced their security action plan and requested the public to take care about their belongings such as gold and money.
Drinking water and transport facilities were discussed at the meeting with relevant officials. Specially discussed about the road condition from Chettikulam to Thanthirimalai. The road within the jungle area seems to be dangerous because both sides of the roads are covered with thick forest. District Engineer of RDA agreed to coordinate with RDA Engineer Vavuniya to clear the road side for the safety of pilgrims.
Special Train Service will be operated from 12th to 16th August 2016 and the time table will be announced soon by the Railway Department.
It will expect around 4 to 5 lacks pilgrims from all over the country and everyone assured basic needs and the security of the pilgrims at the meeting.
