New Circuit Bungalow in Madhu was opened

Two stories new Circuit Bungalow close to the Divisional Secretariat of Madhu was officially opened by Hon. Deputy Minister of Public Administration and Home affairs Mr. Wijaya Dahanayaka on 11th August 2014.

Deputy Minister addressing the gathering stated that considering the requirement of accommodation for Christian public servants who visits Madhu Lady Shrine regularly from all over the country, Hon. Minister of Public Administration and Home affairs Mr. W.D.J. Senevirathne proposed and allocated fund in 2012 to build up this bungalow.

Along with the Deputy Minister Mr. Wijaya Dahanayaka, Hon. Minister of Industry and Commerce Mr. Rizard Bathiudeen, Hon. Member of Parliament for Vanni District Mr. Unais Farook and Northern Provincial Council Member Mr. Rifkhan Bathiudeen were attending the function. Mrs. Deepthi Fernando, Additional Secretary of Ministry of Public Administration & Home Affairs represents the Secretary to the Ministry with Senior Assistant Secretary, Mr. Jayathunga and Assistant secretary Mrs.J.A.C.H. Jayasingha.

Divisional Secretary Madhu, Mr. Sathiyasothy has organized the event successfully.

Fully furnished 9 rooms are available which could accommodate for 30 persons at once. Rooms should be reserved from the Ministry in advance.

 

“Deyata Sevana” National Tree Planting Program

“Deyata Sevana” National Tree Planting Program was officially inaugurated in Mannar District at the Divisional secretariat Manthai West.

Island wide tree planting program was scheduled to conduct on 15th November 2013 by the Ministry of Environment and Renewable Energy.

District Program was organized by the District Forest Office Mannar with the support of the Divisional Secretariat Manthai West. It was ceremonially celebrated and planted trees in the land of Divisional Secretariat  on 15th November 2013.  Mr. M.Y.S.Deshapriya Government Agent Mannar, Mr. Jayakody District Forest Officer Mannar, Mr.M. Sriskandakumar Divisional Secretary, Manthai West, and police and Army personals were attending the ceremony.

Simultaneously, this program was organized by the Divisional Secretaries of Musali, Nanattan, Mannar Town and Madhu with the participation of Forest Department, Army and Police.

School children of Adampan Maha vidyalaya were given important books and posters on environmental protection and tree planting.
